Among Us! review
Among Us is a social deduction game that acts as a multiplayer version of the classic party game Mafia. The game follows a small group of astronauts as they explore a new planet, the name of which is never given. Players are either Crewmates or Impostors. Crewmates are tasked with completing various tasks, such as repairing the ship, exploring the planet, and collecting resources. Meanwhile, Impostors are tasked with sabotaging the Crewmates' efforts and killing the crew. Crewmates are tasked with voting to identify the Impostors and eliminating them, while Impostors are tasked with making sure the Crewmates don't complete their tasks. The Crewmates win if all tasks are completed and all Impostors are eliminated, while the Impostors win if the number of Impostors and Crewmates are equal or if a sabotage goes unresolved.
The game has a space-themed setting, and takes place in the year 2083. The game is set on a new planet, but does not mention the planet's name or the Crewmates' mission. The game is developed and published by Innersloth, and released on iOS and Android devices in June 2018, and on Windows in November 2018. The game is inspired by the party game Mafia and the science fiction horror film The Thing. The game has cross-platform multiplayer, and has planned releases for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.
