Avalanche Software’s game Hogwarts Legacy offers fans of the Harry Potter universe an impressive recreation of the magical world and its inhabitants. But what truly captivates the attention of gamers is the Easter egg concerning the iconic Chamber of Secrets. To experience this classic reference, one needs to use the Revello spell on a sink in the ladies’ room in the dungeon.

When doing so, they will discover a tap with a snake symbol, which is recognizable from the corresponding scene in the movie adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This underground chamber was created by Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts. In the movie, this space is home to a dangerous creature called the Basilisk, meant to rid the castle of those who weren’t of pure blood. Salazar's descendant, Lord Voldemort, also had a hand in challenging it.

The Chamber of Secrets was once threatened with destruction when plumbing was to be expanded at Hogwarts. It was saved, however, by Voldemort’s ancestor, Corvinus Gaunt. In Hogwarts Legacy, one meets an ancestor of Voldemort belonging to this Gaunt family. It is unclear, however, what his role is in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy successfully pays tribute to the Harry Potter universe, referencing both the movie adaptation and the original book. It is interesting to note that while the Chamber of Secrets cannot be visited in the game, its presence is still somehow felt by the players, who will easily recognize the throwback to the popular franchise.

All in all, Hogwarts Legacy showcases an impressive Easter egg concerning the Chamber of Secrets. The reference allows players to relive a classic moment from the Harry Potter universe while still reminding them of the original books and movies. It is a great way to celebrate the magic of J.K. Rowling’s work and to pay a fitting tribute to the beloved franchise.
