With the cost of traditional cable TV services skyrocketing, many consumers are looking for more cost-effective alternatives. Enter YouTube TV, a streaming service launched by Google in 2017 that offers an affordable alternative to cable TV. However, over the years, the service has become increasingly expensive.

YouTube TV initially cost $35/month but now costs $65/month. This does not include the 4K add-on, which costs an additional $20/month on top of the base plan. To make the service more attractive, Google has now dropped the price of the 4K tier to $10/month for the first year. This appears to be in response to the lack of interest in the 4K add-on, which likely means that many consumers found the original price too expensive.

The discounted 4K tier is only available to selected YouTube TV subscribers, so not everyone will be eligible for the offer. However, those who do qualify will be able to enjoy the 4K streaming service at a much lower price. The 4K tier provides access to a wide range of 4K content, including movies, shows, and live events.

In addition to the 4K tier, YouTube TV also offers a number of other features and benefits. These include access to over 85 channels, unlimited cloud storage, and the ability to watch up to three streams simultaneously.

YouTube TV is a viable alternative to traditional cable TV services, providing an affordable option for those who want to watch the latest movies and shows. However, the service has become increasingly expensive in recent years. Fortunately, Google has now dropped the price of the 4K tier to $10/month for the first year, making the service more affordable for selected subscribers.
