Several times during my years of trying to put this Ratliff family information together I have been contacted by individual Ratliff’s (various spellings) regarding a medical condition called ulcerative colitis (uc).  Some have wondered if there was a genetic link to this condition within the Ratliff (various spellings) family.  Up until now, I was unaware of one.

 

However, a gentleman in England , Colin Ratcliffe-Springall has contacted me regarding a potential medical study that several within the Jacobite Society in England intend to participate.  This involves a blood sample DNA study to determine any genetic relationship to having or contracting this condition.  As Colin is trying to gain enough information with which to have a very definitive study within the Ratcliffe (various spellings) family, he would welcome any of you who would wish to consider participating.
