I am a Ratliff descendant from Alexander Rufus Ratliff who had daughter Julia Caroline Ratlif in Grundy, Buchanan County, VA.  I printed out some of your father's book, and I do not believe I tie in to your line, but I am interested to know who we go back to.
There is a Larry Ratliff in St. Albans, WV who has written a book, "The Descendants of Alexander Rufus Ratliff with Larry Hockett and Grace Addison, and he says that we do not descend from Molyneux Ratcliff, but I do not know how back our line has been traced.
There is also a book written by June McReynolds Ratcliff in 1976, and she outlines the Tazewell/Buchanan County Ratliff families, but I am having trouble tracing us back from a John Ratliff who married Charlotte Lottie White, and John was son of a Reuben married to a Frances ?.
There have been several DNA studies, and Larry Ratliff, of St. Albans says that we are not part of the Molyneux line, and then Arthur "Smiley" Ratliff of The Ratliff Foundation says that we descend from The Dilston Radclyffes (Charles de Derwenwater Radclyffe), but Larry also says DNA evidence disputes this theory.....so who is our ancestor for the Tazewell/Buchanan County Ratcliffes?
We have the father of Charlotte Lottie White as Abendego White, and he and Charlotte were born in the Prince Charles, MD area.  Abednego supposedly also married Elizabeth Sumner Ratcliff (who might descend from The Molyneux Ratcliff line), but Charlotte is my ancestor.
