I appreciate children in all of their richness and complexity. They can be baffling, frustrating, delightful, and overwhelming. While I have studied child development in depth, and have taught both undergraduate and graduate level classes about children, I am particularly interested in the spirituality of children. I began my work in this area in the 1970s, and it has led to a number of books and journal articles on the topic (see my publications under "Don" in the left column)

I serve on the planning team for a conference on children's spirituality which was held in 2003, 2006, and 2009. The next conference is scheduled for June, 2012.

I maintain a database of research-related books, articles, and dissertqations on children's spirituality, an ongoing and regularly expanding project. In addition, there is a wide variety of materials available at my childfaith.net site.
